Small-Town Service Still Matters: Keeping McConnelsville and Beyond Moving

By Dan Smith, No Pressure Services, Owner & Operator

When a piece of equipment goes down due to a blown hydraulic hose or a leaking hydraulic cylinder, it usually happens at an inconvenient time. It happens when a farmer is trying to finish a field, when a contractor has a crew waiting, when a truck needs to get back on the road, or when someone is already working against the clock.

That is the kind of pressure we understand at No Pressure Services.

My name is Dan, and my wife Amy and I own No Pressure Services in McConnelsville, Ohio, located on the side of Old Bridge Brewing Company. I have spent 45 years working in the hydraulic field, and over that time, I have learned that a repair is rarely just about the part in front of you. It is about the person depending on that equipment, the job that needs to be finished, and the time they cannot afford to lose.

Today, I am proud to work alongside a team that understands that same responsibility. Adam Troiano, our shop foreman, has been with us since 2019 and plays an important role in keeping the shop running and helping customers get the service they need. We are also glad to have part-timer Aaron Ponchak as part of the team, and to have the next generation learning the value of hard work, service, and taking care of people.

Together, we serve farmers, contractors, truck drivers, equipment owners, and hardworking people throughout Morgan County and the surrounding area.

Around here, we know a repair is rarely just a repair. A broken hydraulic hose, a leaking cylinder, or a piece of equipment that will not work can stop an entire day. It can hold up a job, delay a customer, put a crew under stress, or keep someone from finishing the work they set out to do.

At No Pressure Services, we see those moments every day. And while a hydraulic hose, cylinder, or repair job may look like just another part on the counter, we know there is usually a bigger story behind it.

That is why local service still matters.

Big cities may have more options, but small towns are built on relationships. When someone walks through our door, they are not just a ticket number. Many times, they are a neighbor, a friend, a customer we have helped before, or someone who was sent our way because another local person trusted us enough to recommend us.

That kind of trust means something to us.

At No Pressure Services, our goal is to be the kind of shop people can count on. We work on hydraulic hoses, cylinders, fittings, and repairs that help keep equipment moving. But more than that, we try to listen, understand what someone needs, and help them get back to work as quickly and practically as we can.

I have always believed that when someone brings in a broken hose or a piece of equipment that is down, they are not just asking for a repair. They are asking for help getting their day back on track.

Hydraulic repair may not be something everyone thinks about until they need it, but it plays a quiet role in keeping a community moving. Farm equipment, dump trucks, excavators, skid steers, tow trucks, trailers, and shop equipment all depend on hydraulic systems. When those systems fail, work can quickly come to a stop.

That is where a local repair shop becomes important.

Being able to get help close to home can save time, money, and stress. It can keep someone from driving hours for a hose, waiting too long for a repair, or losing a full day of work. For many people in a rural area like ours, that matters.

Amy and I are proud to run No Pressure Services as a local, family-owned business. Like many small business owners, we wear a lot of hats. Some days are busy, some days are messy, and some days the shop has more going on than we ever expected. But we are grateful for the chance to serve this community and build something that helps people.

For us, small-town service means showing up with pride. It means being helpful, honest, and practical. It means doing our best to take care of the person standing in front of us, because we know their work matters.

It also means growing with the needs of our customers. As more people rely on us for hydraulic hose repair, cylinder work, and shop services, we continue to improve our space, systems, and the way we serve people. Our goal is simple: to help hardworking people get back to work with less hassle and more confidence.

McConnelsville is full of people who know how to work hard. Farmers, contractors, business owners, truck drivers, mechanics, families, and neighbors all play a part in making this area what it is. We are proud that No Pressure Services gets to play a small role in supporting that work.

At the end of the day, hydraulic repair is more than hoses, fittings, and cylinders.

For us, it is one way we help keep Morgan County moving.

And we are grateful to do that work right here in McConnelsville.
