Every fall, the streets of historic McConnelsville come alive with the golden sweetness of Honey Hop, a village-wide celebration of regional beekeepers, local businesses, pollinator education, and small-town charm.

Held during National Honey Month, Honey Hop invites visitors to stroll through downtown McConnelsville discovering local apiaries, tasting unique honey varieties, meeting beekeepers, shopping local storefronts, and collecting stamps along the Honey Trail.

From honey tastings and beeswax creations to family photo opportunities and sweet seasonal treats, Honey Hop is designed to celebrate the hardworking makers, farmers, and pollinators that help our region thrive.

What is Honey Hop?

Honey Hop is a pedestrian-friendly “Honey Trail” experience stretching throughout historic McConnelsville.

Visitors receive a Honey Passport and travel from Honey Hub to Honey Hub throughout downtown collecting stamps, tasting regional honey, meeting local beekeepers, and exploring our charming river town.

Participating Honey Hubs include local businesses, historic landmarks, and community gathering spaces paired with apiaries and honey artisans from across Southeast Ohio.

Make It a Sweet Weekend Getaway

Experience Honey Hop, stroll historic downtown, enjoy local dining, and stay overnight in one of McConnelsville’s charming accommodations.

The Honey Passport Experience

The Honey Passport is the heart of Honey Hop.

 

Visitors:

  • Visit participating Honey Hubs

  • Meet local beekeepers

  • Sample honey varieties

  • Learn about pollinators

  • Collect stamps along the trail

 

Completed passports are entered into the Grand Prize Drawing for the Hive Box, a curated basket filled with honey-themed gifts and products donated by participating apiaries.
